Effeciesse has celebrated in 2025 its fifty years of activity: a milestone that represents half a century of expertise, innovation and steady growth in the production of ball transfer units. Founded in 1975 by Pasquale Arpaia, the company has its roots in the mechanical turning workshop founded in the 1950s by his father, Alberto Arpaia; over the years it has evolved into a dynamic industrial firm, well-known on national and international level.
The origins of Effeciesse and the transition to the production of ball transfer units.
The 1970s marked a significant change: from a specialized turning workshop into a manufacturer of ball bearings and precision industrial components. The importance of the new project was immediately recognized: in March 1976 the trade magazine “Economia e Lavoro” dedicated an article to the newborn Effeciesse, emphasizing the entrepreneurial vision, quality in production and the attention focused beyond the domestic market.
Since that time already, the success has been associated to a “core value” destined to remain in the company’s DNA: “the courage to work well”. A value that has accompanied Effeciesse throughout its five decades of activity.
A further reference to the young company can be found in the 1977 issue “Historical notes and production activities in Carate Brianza”, which highlighted not only the company’s manufacturing ability but also its focus on human relationships with the employees, a distinctive element which is still central to our company today.

Between the late 1980s and early 1990s, Effeciesse focused on the production of ball transfer units and omnidirectional conveyor solutions, aiming to meet the increasing demands of the industrial handling market.
This choice led the company to be one of most complete Italian companies as for production of ball transfer units, with a wide range that nowadays is able to offer different solutions.
Ball transfer units in solid, turned steel
Available in different diameters, so that the range varies from SP 8 to SP 90, they are the perfect solution for applications requiring higher load capacity. Thanks to their robustness, they are suitable for handling systems and working tables; larger diameter versions are mainly used in more demanding fields such as ironworking, naval and airport logistics.
Ball transfer units in pressed metal-sheet
Lightweight and cost-effective, they represent a widely used solution for ball transfer tables and manual omnidirectional movement system for the packaging industry for example. This group also includes the special forms called “flying saucers” or “Saturn-shaped” B.T.U, designed to reduce dimensions while ensuring good smoothness.
Special ball transfer units
The production range of Effeciesse also includes special versions: Airport-Cargo” and “Airport CX Calotta Inox” in addition to versions with threaded shank or internal thread, or again with Seeger groove, as well as spring loaded B.T.Us. This section is completed by the ball transfer units in plastic material machined from bar, available with steel, stainless steel or plastic balls, according to the application or equipment for which they are intended.
